A Retreat Reflection...

“I came expecting a quiet weekend away, but I found so much more. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, I felt God’s presence in a way I hadn’t in a long time, in the stillness, the trees, the peace all around me. What I didn’t expect was the healing He would bring to places in my heart I didn’t even realize needed Him.”

Meet Chef Dean:

Chef Lionel “Dean” Chadwick is the visionary behind The Black Cat List, a Nashville-based culinary collective focused on elevated, experience-driven dining.

The name “Black Cat List” was inspired by Dean’s best friend—his cat—who moved with him to Nashville but was sadly taken by a coyote shortly after their arrival. In honor of his beloved companion, Dean chose the name as a tribute to him through his culinary collective.

Dean was raised between Singapore and California, where he developed a globally influenced approach to cuisine. He later refined his craft in San Francisco and Southern California, where he led kitchens by age 21. His career spans luxury resorts, fine dining, and brasseries including Native Lounge, Le Colonial, Blue Stem, along with large-scale culinary leadership across the healthcare and technology sectors.

A winner of Cutthroat Kitchen, awarded Marqui's "Who's Who Award" for one of 2025's most influential people in the US, Chef Dean brings a versatile style rooted in classical technique, butchery, and modern culinary innovation.

Now based in Nashville, he leads The Black Cat List with a singular focus: creating refined, memorable dining experiences tailored to every client.

Arasely Rios • October 2-4, 2026

The Gentle Unraveling — A Retreat of Healing and Surrender

Arasely's Bio

Arasely Rios is a sacred artist, speaker, and founder of Seraphym, a faith-centered brand born from a profound encounter with God. Once immersed in the corporate world of fashion and beauty, Arasely’s life began to change following a heartfelt conversation with the Lord in a quiet church in Spain, where she surrendered completely to His will and gave Him permission to transform whatever He desired in her life.

Soon after, a season of deep loss unfolded—an unraveling that opened the path to God’s greater plan. In that sacred surrender, beauty was reborn. What she lovingly calls her journey “from lipsticks to rosaries” became a living testimony of how God transforms pain into purpose and grace into art. In His mercy, He gathered the scattered fragments of her life and wove them into a tapestry of purpose and grace, revealing how even pain can become part of His masterpiece.

During this sacred transformation, God took Arasely’s lifelong love of rosary making and breathed new life into it, giving rise to Seraphym—a sacred art ministry rooted in devotion, reverence, and beauty that reflects the Divine. Through surrender, Arasely came to see that God’s purpose always unfolds in His perfect time—Seraphym became her purpose, and the purpose of Seraphym was to guide people to heal through prayer. Guided by that same grace, since 2008 Arasely has been creating and curating sacred pieces—rosaries, devotional jewelry and art—that have become vessels of healing and prayer for hearts seeking hope, peace and restoration. With a heart surrendered and set aflame by the love of Christ, Arasely continues to inspire others to trust God’s will—even when it leads through loss—to discover the radiant wholeness found only in Him.

Today, Arasely shares her story through retreats and speaking engagements, witnessing to the power of surrender and the healing that flows from yielding to God’s will. Her work has been featured by Fox News, NPR, EWTN and in publications such as the National Catholic Register and San Diego Union-Tribune. Her flagship space, Seraphym Sacred Art Gallery & Boutique opened in 2018 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, has become a haven for pilgrims, seekers and anyone longing for divine renewal. It is a spiritual haven where faith and beauty meet.

Weekend Theme

In The Gentle Unraveling, Arasely Rios invites you into a sacred weekend of reflection, healing and surrender. Through her own story—a journey marked by loss, letting go and discovering peace in God’s will—she opens space for participants to encounter the same tender grace that rebuilt her life from within.

This retreat offers a gentle invitation to release the empty pursuits of the world, to rest at the feet of Christ and to let His tender love gently unravel all that no longer nourishes your soul. Through storytelling, prayer and guided reflection, you’ll be led to see how surrender is not the end—it is the beginning of healing.

As part of the experience, participants will take part in a hands-on rosary-making workshop, creating their own heirloom-quality Seraphym rosary—a tangible expression of faith, transformation and prayer. Each rosary becomes a personal symbol of healing and surrender, a reminder that God weaves beauty even from the threads of our unraveling.

Whether you are walking through loss, seeking renewal or simply longing to rest in divine love, this retreat offers a sacred space to be restored—to be gently unraveled and lovingly remade by the hands of the Healer.

FAQs

Answers to Guide Your Retreat Journey

What’s included in the retreat experience?

Your retreat includes a private bedroom with en-suite bath, delicious meals, a resort-style pool, peaceful walking trails, a chapel for prayer, Adoration and Mass, a pond, fire pit, and dynamic Catholic speakers. It's a truly spa-like experience for the soul, designed to refresh your body, mind, and spirit.

How is this retreat different from other Catholic retreats?

Many retreats host 50+ people in some shared rooms and older facilities. This retreat offers a more serene and intimate experience with luxurious touches, personalized care, and complete privacy. It’s hosted on 40 acres atop a peaceful hill in the Tennessee countryside—designed for deep spiritual rest and renewal.

Why is this retreat limited to only 12 women?

We keep our retreats small and personal so each woman has the space to rest, reflect, and reconnect with God in a peaceful, supportive setting. With just 12 participants, you’ll experience meaningful connection, individual attention, and deep spiritual renewal without distractions. Plus, you have personal access to Kendra and the speakers to get to know them on a more personal basis.

What kinds of gifts or items will I receive?

We love blessing each woman who comes. You’ll leave with several beautiful keepsakes, including a high-quality hand-stiched refillable leather-bound journal, a handcrafted necklace from Seraphym Designs, a cozy blanket, KoKo's candles, spiritual books, and two retreat-themed baseball caps! Every detail is chosen to continue nurturing your faith even after you return home - leave room in your suitcase!

Can I come alone to the Soul, Mind and Body Retreat?

Absolutely. Many women would like to come to the retreat on their own — and it’s a beautiful decision. This time away is meant to be a personal journey with God, and coming solo often allows for deeper reflection, healing, and renewal.

You’ll have plenty of space for solitude and quiet if that’s what your soul is craving. But you may also find yourself forming meaningful connections with other faith-filled women. Some guests may meet their “spiritual bestie” during the weekend!

Whether you’re seeking stillness or sisterhood (or both), you’ll be right at home here.

Retreat Cancellation & Transfer Policy

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise. If you are unable to attend your scheduled retreat, you may transfer your registration to a future Soul, Mind and Body Retreat one time at no additional charge, based on availability. Please feel free to reach out directly to Kendra Von Esh at [email protected] to discuss your situation.

Because of the preparation, lodging reservations, chef deposits, and planning involved for each retreat, all registrations require advance commitment.

If cancellation is made:

60+ days before the retreat: Full refund, including your $250 deposit

30–59 days before the retreat: Your $250 deposit is non-refundable, but any remaining balance paid beyond the deposit will be refunded

Less than 30 days before the retreat: No refunds will be issued

If we are able to fill your canceled space from the waiting list, we may offer a partial refund at our discretion.

In the rare event that we must cancel the retreat, all payments made by participants will be fully refunded.

We encourage each guest to prayerfully consider their availability before registering, as your commitment helps us prepare well for every retreat experience.

What kind of spiritual guidance or talks will there be?

Our Catholic speakers bring personal testimony, scripture, healing, and guidance tailored to women seeking holiness and healing. Talks are woven into the retreat in a gentle, impactful way—offering truth, love, and light in a world that often pulls us in the opposite direction. Is this retreat right for me?

If you’re longing to reconnect with God in a quiet, sacred space… if you desire beauty, rest, and faith-filled sisterhood… if you’re ready to invest in your spiritual growth and healing—then yes, this retreat is made for you.

Do I need to dress up for the retreat?

Not at all. This retreat is a space to come just as you are — physically, emotionally, and spiritually. There’s no need to dress up or “gussy up.”

We’re not here to impress anyone — we’re here to encounter Christ, to heal, and to grow together in faith. Comfortable, modest clothing is perfect. Think cozy, casual, and Christ-centered. Bring what makes you feel at peace — not what fits a dress code.

Come as you are… and let God do the rest.

Where is the retreat located?

What is the total cost and are there payment plans?
